“It was three weeks after my visit to the Private Hospital, where they did the test, arranged the appointment, and carried out the treatment, that I received a letter from my local NHS hospital advising that I was now on a waiting list,” explained Mrs Steen from Cardiff.
Health Insure Wales had provided Mrs Steen with a Private Medical Insurance plan. However, the real benefit was only seen when Mrs Steen was advised that she needed a minor procedure after a routine test.
“When I called to follow up the routine test, they asked if I wanted to go in later that same evening. I actually arranged to see them the next day and it was all resolved in around an hour,” said Mrs Steen.
Three weeks after the treatment was finished, Mrs Steen received a letter from her local hospital stating that she had been added to a waiting list to see someone.
“Not only was it three weeks before I got the letter, but the hospital also gave no indication of timescales. I am really unsure when I would have been seen or treated. Thanks to the Private Medical Insurance put in place by David at Health Insure Wales, I did not end up spending weeks worrying about my health.”
“Sadly, this is not an isolated case,” explained Dave Garnham of Health Insure Wales. “There is so much stress on the NHS at the moment that some treatments are simply put to the back of the queue. We are just really pleased to have helped put the plan in place for Mrs Steen.”
